Five Reps Boost Lautoka
Five new players are expected to be part of Lautoka’s 2018 Courts Inter-District Championship team.
These are Samuela Nalaubu (Rewa), Samuela Nabenia (Ba) , Zainal Ali (Nadi), Alfaz Ali (Nadi) and Mataiasi Toma (NZ).
Blues coach Kamal Swamy said the inclusion of the five players will boost their bid to defend their title.
Swamy added as defending champions they have a huge task ahead.
“For Nalaubu and Nabenia their transfer is yet to be finalised. I’m looking for good strikers,” Swamy said.
“Having to defend the title two years in a row will be hard, and with OFC Champions League coming up, I need to have the best squad in place.
“We are aware that Suva and southern teams will be competitive playing on their own turf.”
Swamy is urging Lautoka supporters to come out in numbers and support the Blues.
They play the feature match on day one (next Friday) against Ba at 8pm.
