Beating Suva Is Crucial: Ahmed

Nadi are banking on their experienced players to lead their campaign during the 2018 Courts Inter-District Championship that starts at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, next Friday.
Nadi are currently in Group B with hosts Suva, Rewa and Tavua.
Nadi FC president Javed Ahmed said although key striker Napolioni Qasevakatini, Zainal and Alfraz Ali have requested for their release everything is yet to be finalised.
He told SUNsports if Qasevakatini shifts to another district, they have Tito Vodowaqa and Rusiate Matererega to takeover.
“Qase has applied for his release to join Suva while Zainal and Ali want to move to Lautoka, but right now everything is not confirmed,” Ahmed said.
“We still want to maintain our players because we know playing Suva in our first game will not be easy. “Winning the first game is crucial to maintaining our stance throughout the competition.”
He said they have three players from the Vodafone Fijian Under-20 squad who have helped boost their preparation.
“There is a good balance of players. We have three under-20 players, Tiko Vuniwaqa, Peni Seni and Sekove Naivakananuma. Preparations have been good and the weather has been favourable but we cannot rely on this knowing that it will be different in Suva.”
