Those who frequent beauty parlours and want make-up applied in a safe and luxurious environment have just the place for that now in Suva.

That place is Beauty Bar along Suva’s Victoria Parade.

It is the brainchild of Faraz Ali, widely known as Fuzz, who also owns House of Design.

And Mr Ali is pretty adamant on one thing – at the Beauty Bar customers can get a full-face make-up without having the hassle to clean up.

“All other major fashion centres have a beauty bar and are a very common thing where you can go and be pampered,” he said.

“Where you don’t have to worry about the mess, you don’t have to be cleaning up afterwards.

“It can be a messy affair because there are so many layers and so many lines and so many things taken into consideration.”

Beauty Bar Fiji’s objective is to provide high quality make-up and cater for group bookings so people can come in and have a glass of champagne and start their night.

“First we thought that we would stock in Fenty Beauty and Sephora products,” said Mr Ali.

“We just did not want to use Fenty Beauty because it’s Rihanna’s label, but also because this is part of our message.

“I am in a big believer in diversity and inclusion and Fenty Beauty as a brand is completely about that.”

Mr Ali said Beauty Bar would cater for people of all skin tones who had a hard time searching for foundation of the perfect colour.

“Most make-up that is available in Fiji is quite heavy and oily and leaves a residue,” he said.

“You will find the make-up smudged up after a while, but that won’t happen in high quality products. We want to be high quality and we want to be accessible.”

The cheapest full-face make-up is $35 and the most expensive one is $150, which includes fake eyelashes.
