A QUESTION OF ETHICS

A media website needs to learn some ethics. Instead of attributing an item on the Writ of Elections to the Fiji Sun, it shamelessly circulated it as if it was its own original work.

Where it slipped was when its report said according to the Constitution the writ would be issued today. That was incorrect and BTL noticed it was removed in subsequent updates.

VERSATILE REDDY

Minister for Waterways and Environment Mahendra Reddy is on the roll.

His open door policy is no doubt attracting a lot of people who seek advice, direction and help.

When Beqa islanders approached him recently, he did not hesitate to say yes to visit them. He was the first minister to visit one part of the island.

Yesterday, he was asked if he could meet members of group concerned with the environment in their area.

Mr Reddy said yes. And today at 10am, they will be meeting him at his office at Toorak in Suva.

They are absolutely delighted with his response. One of them remarked: “We are really honored that the honorable minister has accepted our late request to meet him.” At the rate he is going, it would be no surprise if Mr Reddy polls well in the November 14 general election.
