Building Firm Helps The Underprivileged

Aquaheat South Pacific Limited places the welfare of the less fortunate high on its list of social responsibilities.
General Manager South Pacific Anusheel Chandra said: “We are very strong on our corporate responsibilities.
“The aim of these initiatives is to support the community at large.”
Mr Chandra was born in Votualevu, Nadi in a cane farming family.
Mr Chandra, who now lives in New Zealand, knows too well the life of the less fortunate in Fiji.
“We want our managers to take time out from their busy schedules and see for themselves how each of their time translates into something worthwhile for someone in need,” he said.
“All staff members of Aquaheat are encouraged to participate and from the General Manager down to all levels – no boss whatsoever, everyone gets in and does their little bit.”
Mr Chandra said a team, led by the company’s Health and Safety Adviser Victor Kissun, would scout around for such organisations that needed assistance.
Last week, the company visited the Treasure Home in Nadi with donations and their pledge to continually support them. “We are hopeful that more corporate bodies get on board and support the likes of Treasure Home and as we know, any assistance leads to some comfort for the less fortunate,” Mr Chandra said.
Aquaheat has also carried out such visits in Suva.
“We are like any other business focusing on profits; however, the satisfaction is even greater when complemented with good old-fashioned community work,” Mr Chandra said.
“This is what we want all our staff members to embrace.”
