Pijila Kadinikabara Kilaiwaca was convicted of one count of enlisting or recruiting any person for employment under a Foreign Contract of Service with no authorisation.

She was found guilty by the Suva Magistrates Court.

While sentencing Kilaiwaca, Magistrate Deepika Prakash said the prescribed maximum penalty was a fine of not exceeding $20,000 or a term of imprisonment not exceeding four years or both.

Kilaiwaca was fined in the sum of $300 to be paid within 30 days.

Magistrate Prakash also said in default of payment, a distress warrant is to be issued against Kilaiwaca after the expiry of 30 days from Monday.
