Two of the four businesses in Sigatoka that were destroyed in a fire on Tuesday have started relocating and making arrangements for their staff members.

Vinod Patel’s Home and Living has distributed its staff members initially working at Sigatoka to its other West branches.

For Meenoo’s Sigatoka staff members, they are awaiting word from management when they would start and when they would find space to start up shop again.

Meenoo’s director Bharat Parmar said: “We are now looking for a space or a shop in Sigatoka town and the sooner we find a space, the better.”

In the meantime, staff members were being paid, he said.

About 11 staff members that were located in the Sigatoka branch they would be relocated soon to the other branches.

“The main thing was the safety of my staff,” he said.

“Even though we lost everything in the fire, all my staff are safe and that is the main thing.”

Home and Living procurement manager Suva, Ronald Narayan said 11 staff members were relocated to their other branches yesterday.

The other two shops destroyed in the fire was Courts and Ravendra Maharaj’s Restaurant.
