Fiji Airways Fijian 7s head coach Gareth Baber is going to select 14 players tomorrow to participate in the Fiji Bitter Nabukelevuira 7s tournament in Kadavu next weekend. The side will depart from Port Mua-i-Walu next Tuesday night.

Baber believes it would be a great opportunity for the players to build their strength.

“The team will be travelling to Kadavu on Tuesday night by boat, this would be the great opportunity for the players to get back to some serious rugby stuff and build their strength,” he said.

The extended squad got together for a two-day training camp on Monday and Tuesday.

“Last week the players were concentrating on developing themselves, so our focus this week was to gauge their strength, speed and we have started to open up a little bit in their running.

“After the two days the players were back in their Daily Training Exercises (DTE) for the rest of the week.

“In the next few weeks we will play in tournaments in conjunction with some sessions at the sand dunes and building their strength.”
