On Saturday it’s not about revenge but how to play to win and enjoy our rugby-Senirusi Seruvakula

The Fiji Airways Fijian Drua team aim to keep the winning momentum against Canberra Vikings in the sixth round of the National Rugby Championship tomorrow.

Head coach Senirusi Seruvakula said they need to play to win rather than avenging the 5-66 lost to the Vikings in Canberra, last year.

Seruvakula said the team need to have the right focus and mentality when they run onto Churchill Park,  Lautoka tomorrow at 3pm.

“We need to concentrate on our own game and play to win. We need to have a good start and keep the momentum for 80 minutes,” Seruvakula said.

The visitors are likely to field prominent players like Rob Valentini, Joe Powell, Josh Mann-Rea, Tom Banks, Jordan Jackson, Rory Arnold, and Blake Enever to name a few.

“We enjoy playing in Lautoka and hope the weather will favour us. The weather was cold in Canberra last year and that’s why they won convincingly.

“On Saturday it’s not about revenge but how to play, win and enjoy our rugby.”

Seruvakula has made minimal changes to the 23-man squad who defeated NSW Country 7-48 in Suva last week with Peni Naulago returning to the second row and Cyril Reece at centres.

Veremalua Vugakoto comes back into the squad at 16 and Enele Malele resumes his place on the bench after recovering from an ankle injury.

With a full programme of rugby across the day including Fiji Airways Fijiana 15s trials at 10.30am, Wardens v NFA at 12.30pm and the main NRC game at 3pm, there’s no place better to be than at the sugar city.

Tickets are $10 (grandstand), $5 (embankment), children U12 free.
