Bad Weather Forces Organisers To Defer Camp

Bad weather has forced the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Labasa Special Youth Club to postpone their Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Adventurous Journey.

The camp, which was supposed to be held from Thursday till tomorrow, will now be held from October 25 to 27.

Ministry of Youth and Sports coordinator Mere Ratukonadi said the camp would be held after the Fiji Day celebrations.

“The weather is beyond our control, this decision comes after meeting with the head teacher for Special Education Needs in Labasa,” Ms Ratukonadi said.

“The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award was founded by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, German educationalist Kurt Hahn and Sir John Hunt in 1956.”
