Robert Valetini knows it will be a daunting task beating the Fiji Airways Fijian Drua in round six of the National Rugby Championship at Churchill Park, Lautoka today.

The son of Fijian parents, Manueli and Finau Valetini, Melbourne-born Robert, 20, will play blindside flanker for the Canberra Vikings.

“It will be a tough game against Fiji,” he said.

“We know we have to stay calm and play our best.”

Valetini’s recurring knee injuries restricted him to just three games this year. He started his first game of the NRC season two weeks ago against NSW Country Eagles but left the field after tweaking his knee again.

Coach Nick Scrivener said they are confident of a fifth straight victory.

“It is big challenge for us as the Drua have not been beaten yet in Fiji. There are two games before the final. It is a really important game for us,”he said.

“They are a completely different team with top offloads, and all those sorts of things.” The match kicks off at 3pm.
