The Rewa football team have joined Nasinu in bombing out of the 2018 Courts Inter-District Championship.

Last night, the Lorima Dau-coached side lost 2-1 to the Lincoln Refrigeration Suva side to end their campaign.

For the Gurjit Singh-coached side the win has kept their semi-final hopes alive.

The hosts put up a gutsy performance in the first 45 minutes as wily striker Ravinesh Singh drew first blood.

Rewa regrouped with striker Iosefo Verevou slamming in the equaliser. Their joy was short-lived when Bruce Hughes scored the second goal as they led 2-1 at halftime.

Big play: Suva settled down quickly and were all out to score their goals while Rewa only had themselves to blame with their poor defensive structures.

Comments: Suva head coach Gurjit Singh said: “It was a tough game for both teams. We missed a lot of scoring opportunities and that is one area we have to work on.”

Rewa head coach Lorima Dau said: “I thank the players for their effort and one area we will have to work on for the future is on our execution.”
