FijiFirst is the first political party to submit its nomination list of proposed candidates to the Fijian Elections Office.

General secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday filed FijiFirst’s 51 candidates’ nominations together with their $51,000 fee, $1000 per proposed candidate.

He said they had also submitted their candidate declarations in respect of them wanting to stand for elections and their eligibility.

“Once the Fijian Elections Office vets the candidates who are eligible then we will submit our asset liability declaration for individual candidates,” said Mr Sayed-Khaiyum

He also said they would then need to get the party list done.

Meanwhile, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem yesterday reminded all proposed candidates that they had seven days left to send in their completed nomination forms.

“We will not accept any late nomination form as candidates are given sufficient time to do so,” Mr Saneem said.

“The FEO will not accept any candidate nomination form after 12pm as per the writ on October 15, 2018.”
