About 120 students from the Lautoka School for Special Education painted their environment with blue and white colours to celebrate Fiji Day on Tuesday.

Assistant headteacher, Kailash Pillay said it was always special to see children with special needs take part and celebrate Fiji Day.

“It was a special day, especially when you think about the special children taking part in the celebrations organised by the Commissioner Western’s Office,” he said.

“Not only did they make the children happy, but they also brought gift packs and they gave it to all the students and that showed the commitment towards the special students.

“Most of the time they are left out, but we are privileged that our children can also access this,” he said.
