Manager clarifies school letterhead use

The manager of a Nadi primary school which hosted a FijiFirst campaign meeting says he is not responsible for a note on a school letterhead which alerted the nearby community of the meeting.

Votualevu Public School manager Pramendra Nath Bharos says the note on the school letterhead was the work of the school typist.

The letter was typed under the school letterhead with the subject community news, advising the community of the FijiFirst party campaign meeting held at the school last night.

The letter has gone viral on social media with a SODELPA provisional candidate posting it on facebook.

When confronted last night, Mr Bharos said, “it was an overlook by the typist. The one I wrote was on a plain paper, and emailed to the office.

“It was not intended to be on a letterhead.

“The school is a neutral institution. We have talked it over with the board.

“It was a community awareness and we have done with the TLTB consultations.

“People have to change their mentality because the school is not for the students alone.

“The community is one of the key stakeholders, which is a philosophy of the school management.”

Mr Bharos has been the manager for the past seven years.

The management looks after Votualevu College and Votualevu Public School.
