Pedestrians, drivers be careful on roads, says Kaususu

A resident of Qelemumu outside Labasa Town has urged pedestrians and drivers to be careful while on the road.
Seru Kaususu, 32, said this after he witnessed an accident involving two vehicles yesterday.
He said that although the accident was minor, it played a significant role in passing a strong message to the general public.
“People should always be careful on the roads as we may not know what can happen next,” said Mr Kaususu.
Mr Kaususu who was enjoying his Sunday like every other day said: “I was sitting here with my friends and waiting for the transport to take us home,” he said.
While waiting, a shocked Mr Kaususu witnessed two vehicles get into an accident right in front of where he had been seated.
“I saw one of the vehicles speeding as the other wanted to take a turn at the junction where they collided,” he said.
“I immediately went to see if everyone was alright.
“I count myself very lucky as no one got injured,” he said.
Mr Kaususu said that things could have been worse.
“We always need to be careful on the roads because things can happen out of nowhere,” he said.
