The CMFI Macuata Rugby 7s tournament received support from Levuka, Ovalau-based companies Bumble Bee Foods LLC and Pacific Fishing Companies (PAFCO) yesterday.

Top teams from around the country will converge at Subrail Park, Labasa on October 25-27 for the biggest tournament in the Northern division which offers a total package of $35,000.

Bumble Bee Food LLC donated $1000 and 10 cartons of Sunbell Tuna and PAFCO provided 10 cartons of Sunbell Tuna to assist in the running of the tournament.

More than 60 teams will converged at Subrail Park, Labasa for the three- day CMFI Macuata Rugby 7s tournament from October 25-27.

One of the objectives of the tournament is to develop rugby in the grassroots in  Vanua Levu.

Top teams who have confirmed their participation includes defending champion Westfield Renwick, First Landing, First Light Taveuni, Cross of Victory, Uluinakau Baabaas, Lami Cavaliers, Newborn Waibasaga and Ratu Filise.

Tier One Cup winner receives $12K, runner-up $5K, Tier Two Cup winner gets $4K, runner-up $2K, U19, women winner gets $1000.

Registration closes tomorrow.
