The 2018 National Games for children with disabilities started at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

Organised by the Fiji Council of Special and Inclusive Education, 22 teams will participate in the two-day event which ends today

President of Fiji Council of Special and Inclusive Education Maria Tukana said organising such an event for special children was a good way to show they are part of us.

“Our theme for this year is to believe in our stars,” she said.

“We believe that all our special students are stars in their own right.

“We should be providing them with opportunities to shine.”

Tukana said they aim have a team participating in the Chow Games in future.

“Our focus is to provide maximum participation for our students so that they will be able to feel they are part of us,” she said.
