The Multinational Observer Group (MOG) paid a courtesy call on the President of Fiji, His Excellency Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote on Thursday.

Indonesian Ambassador to Fiji Benyamin Scott Carnadi attended on behalf of the MOG’s co-lead countries and Observer Co-ordinator Alice Cawte represented the MOG Secretariat. President Konrote acknowledged the important job the MOG was performing and said Fiji appreciated its presence.

“The MOG will contribute towards transparency and accountability in this important election.

“I want to thank Indonesia, India and Australia for agreeing to co-lead the MOG,” said President Konrote.

Ambassador Carnadi thanked the President for his kind words and said that Indonesia would be announcing its full team of observers shortly.
