The National Federation Party (NFP) leader Biman Prasad has commended Government’s free medicine scheme.

He added the NFP would ensure the medicines were available in a timely manner.

He was speaking at a rally in Labasa.

NFP candidate Parmod Chand said they would look into the infrastructure in the Northern Division.

“We will look into ways for a bypass road in Vanua Levu to ease traffic,” he said.

“We are also discussing to cut a road from Korotari to Savusavu which will reduce the mileage traveled by cars.”

Meanwhile, Mr Prasad also repeated  that they would look into the contractual, temporary employment at all Government levels.

“Our policy is that we will completely do away with the contractual, temporary employment at all Government levels.”

Mr Prasad said some private sector employers had also started adopting the contractual- based system.

He also promised that the minimum price of $100 per tonne of sugarcane would be instantaneously put into place should NFP form the next Government.

“As soon as we enter the Parliament, we will implement the policy in the 2019 cane cutting season,” he said.
