Youths Speak Mind On Poll

At least 50 members of a youth group in Natokowaqa, Lautoka, have spoken their mind on who they will cast their votes for in the 2018 General Election.

Without hesitation they saluted the FijiFirst Government for providing decent jobs and steering them away from criminal activities with timely incentives.

Members of the ‘Providing Young Generation Movement in Every Society’ (PYGMIES) group, call themselves family after their formation three years ago.

PYGMIES leader, Josateki Labalaba, said the opportunities created by the FijiFirst Government benefited club members and their families.

“Unemployed. we lived in a place that used to be a hive for criminal activities, but this Bainimarama Government showed mercy upon us unlike like past governments,” he said. “Some of my friends came from prison, but because of this Government’s vision to do good, we help other youths follow the right path.”

He said group members employed at the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) Mill in Lautoka as casual laborers, managed to put a smile on the faces of their families.

“There is a big improvement here in Natokowaqa. Before it was a scary area, people were frightened to come out of their own homes,” Mr Labalaba said.

“Now there is great calm and freedom of movement because of what our youths are doing.”
