More Schools Get Road Safety Gear

Total (Fiji) Limited donated road safety equipment to Nehru Memorial Primary School yesterday as part of its road safety awareness efforts.
Total has so far donated road safety equipment to 35 schools around Fiji.
Nehru Memorial head teacher, Michael Kumar, said: “This is the first time in my two years that someone has donated road safety equipment and I am glad that they chose our school.
“We always ensure that the children are safe when they cross the road. Road safety is life safety and will ensure that we put this equipment to good use.”
Vishnu Deo Primary School also received their road safety equipment on Tuesday.
Total Fiji managing director, Kazi Rahman, said: “For the past six years we have been donating road safety equipment to schools. The Land Transport Authority gives us a list of schools that need the equipment.
“This year we had 35 schools and we plan to increase it to 50 next year. This year we spent a total of $25,000 for the 35 schools.
“Road safety is important and we will ensure that schools get their road safety equipment.”
