Diwali is the most looked forward to event in the Hindu calendar celebrating peace, prosperity, love and happiness so empahsises Bank of Baroda chief executive officer Sudhansu Khamari.

“This has been the Bank of Baroda’s philosophy for its customers over the last 58 years,”  Mr Khamari said.

While speaking to guests during the Diwali Milan at Khatriya Hall on Wednesday, Mr Khamari highlighted the significance of Diwali to not only banks but the people of Fiji.

“Diwali signifies the victory of good over evil, hope over despair and future over past,” he said.

“Deepavali is the time to celebrate with peace, prosperity, love and happiness.

“In line with that, we feel Bank of Baroda has been trying to spread love, happiness and prosperity the last 58 years in Fiji.

“By providing affordable banking services, participating in social- economic development by extending credit to large business houses, microfinance entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SME) and agriculture sector.”

Mr Khamari added this was also the time of the year for contemplation and reflection.

“It’s a time for us to think about our obligations to our fellow human beings, particularly those who are less fortunate than we are,” he added.

“In this spirit, apart from meeting the financial needs of our customers and stakeholders, the bank has been equally instrumental in fulfilling its social responsibility towards the people of Fiji.”
