Fijians’ Filipo Daugunu and Kirwan Sanday have been named in Queensland Country’s line-up to take on the Fiji Airways Fijian Drua at Churchill Park, Lautoka, tomorrow.

Country coach Rod Seib said, despite beating the Drua midway into the competition, they are mindful of the fact that they haven’t lost any of their home games.

“The Fijian’s passion for rugby is well known around the world,” he said.

“Most elite rugby teams around the world are influenced by team members with Fijian heritage.

“Our team is no different with Filipo Daugunu and Kirwan Sanday both set to start for us on the weekend.”

Daugunu made his mark last year and made his way to this year’s Super Rugby competition playing for Queensland Reds.

Former Fijian Under-20 tighthead prop Sanday is going to partner 86 Wallabies Test veteran James Slipper.

In a drawback, first choice halfback James Tuttle has suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, ruling him out of the match and is replaced by Tate McDermott.
