There was an unplanned power outage at 3:38am this morning, Saturday 27th October, 2018 due to a vehicle colliding with an EFL power pole on Queens Road Highway in Navua.

Vehicle Accident on an EFL Power Pole Causes Power Disruption in Parts Navua Area

There was an unplanned power outage at 3:38am this morning, Saturday 27th October, 2018 due to a vehicle colliding with an EFL power pole on Queens Road Highway in Navua. This caused a power disruption to our valued customers who are provided power supply via the SMIL feeder around the Navua area.

The outage had affected the supply of electricity to our customers in the following areas:

Waikalou, Beqa Place, Nakaulevu Subdivision, Nasasa, Sadro Road, Nasau Village, Vunibau Village, Chandar Bhan Subdivision, Tiri Villas Beach Resort, Raith Holdings Subdivision, Grace Road Food Company Limited and part of Queens Road from Ranadi Plantation to Sadro Road.

Teams were dispersed to attend to this fault in the early hours of the morning and power supply had been restored to majority of the areas by 6:00am. However, in order to safely carry out repair works the following areas had to be isolated while repair works were being carried out. The remaining affected areas are:

Part of Queens Road from junction of Nakaulevu Road till junction of Sadro Road including, Vunibau Village, Nasau Village and the Grace Road Food Company Limited.

Repair works on the broken power line is expected to be completed by this evening (Saturday 27th October, 2018) and power supply fully restored.

EFL kindly requests drivers and machine operators to exercise caution while driving and maneuvering vehicles to avoid causing damages to EFL assets resulting in power outages.

The EFL sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all affected our valued customers due to this unplanned power outage which was beyond our control.
