Former Reserve Bank Governor joins Kontiki Finance Board

Kontiki Finance Limited (KFL) yesterday announced that Barry Whiteside has joined the company’s Board of Directors.
MrWhiteside served as Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji between May 2011 and May 2017 and had a career spanning 40 years across all areas of the Central Bank.
Mr Whiteside said: “With Fiji’s growing economy we need licensed institutions like Kontiki Finance to provide the financial services our consumers and SME’s need to a high professional standard.
“I’m impressed with the whole KFL operation, how easy and accessible it makes loan funds available to borrowers and the competitive term deposit rates it offers to people, businesses and other institutions.
“In particular I am impressed with the strength and experience of its leadership team and board.”
Kontiki Finance chairman Daryl Tarte says he is delighted with the appointment.
“Barry brings more great experience to our already strong board, and for someone of his standing to join us is a great endorsement of the company and its prospects”.
In September, Kontiki Finance announced the company’s audited Net Profit after Tax (NPAT) had increased by 72 per cent from $3.120m to $5.365m, with Tarte stating he expected continued strong growth in the year ahead.
