Krishneel Maharaj, 29, says the cost of living is not too high.

He made this statement during a campaign by the FijiFirst Party general secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum in Tuvu, Lautoka on Wednesday.

Mr Maharaj, who is a course coordinator for Information Technology at the University of the South Pacific at the Lautoka Campus, said if people thought the cost of living was too high, the only conclusion was that they were not working hard enough.

“If people say the cost of living is too high, maybe they are not working too hard,” he said.

“I’m content with what the FijiFirst Government continues to do for the people of Fiji. I’m really happy with what the Government has achieved for all people so far,” he said.

“We now have got more job security, better income, most of the people who think the cost of living is too high with this Government, I don’t think so.

“This Government has provided us with a lot of security for stability, even if you have to walk alone now in the Lautoka City, you are safe.”

Tomitila Foketi, who runs a business called Halia Fiji Ltd, said together with her family they would continue to support the FijiFirst Party.

“I know all my family we support FijiFirst,” she said.
