The opening of a new health centre in Nakasi will make life easier for the elderly, says a local resident.

Mohammed Tarish, who has been living in Nasinu for the past 20 years, said the opening would greatly benefit the community, but especially the elderly.

“I have been living here for the past 20 years and getting medical assistance was always a struggle for people here especially for us senior citizens. It is always a challenge travelling to CWM Hospital in Suva,” the 53-year-old resident said.

“But today, after PM Bainimarama opened this health centre, it will change the lives of people here in Nakasi, especially the senior citizens.”

The state-of-the-art facility will provide medical services like X-ray, dental and many other essential services for people who live along the corridors of Kings Road.

“Going to CWM was even harder because the fares and accommodation was always a barrier and we sometimes look up to the Gods and pray that one day we will have a facility like this,” he said.

“Now with the free bus fare and new medical centre everything is now easy for us and we can all come for a check-up.

“I would like to thank Bainimarama and his government for the assistance and a job well done,” he said.
