Late Ratu Romanu Hard To Replace: Roko

Ratu Romanu will be irreplaceable.
That was the description by the Roko Tui Namosi Rupeni Kunaturaga when delivering Government’s eulogy for the late Ratu Romanu Matanitobua at Veivatuloa Church yesterday.
He said Ratu Romanu started work at the Namosi Provincial Council office before joining other offices.
Mr Kunaturaga said Ratu Romanu was only 30 when he was a member of the Namosi Provincial Council and had been chairman of the council for 18 years.
“He was someone who cared for all people and offered his help to those in need,” Mr Kunaturaga said.
“He was a strong supporter of Government who worked hard to see developments in the province benefited all in Namosi.
“He was also a Board Member of the iTaukei Lands Trust Board (TLTB).”
At the last Namosi Provincial Council meeting the late Ratu Romanu had urged members to prepare well for the Namosi Festival in November.
He was laid to rest at the chiefly burial ground (sautabu).
