Koroba Chiefs came from behind to escape with a 20-20 draw against Rukuruku Highlanders in the Jack’s Nadi Rugby Union franchise competition at Prince Charles Park, Nadi on Friday night.

Olympian Samisoni Viriviri put on a sterling performance to inspire Highlanders as they led 20-15 when the siren sounded to indicate the end of the match.

But the Chiefs with the services of former Nadi rep John Jackson turned over possession, they kept the ball alive and patiently built phase after phases until went over to score with the conversion missing.

Competition coordinator Jeff Tamata said all the games were of high intensity and the winner was decided on injury time.”

“After the fourth round, all the six teams have chances of qualifying to the semi-finals. So it’s still open as the best is yet to be seen.”

The last round of competition gets underway on Friday.
