Residents of Nausori and Nasinu were treated a pre-Diwali day fireworks demonstration by one of Fiji’s leading supermarket groups, New World IGA Nakasi branch.

The staff of New World IGA Nakasi had displayed 16 different types of fireworks at its carpark on Saturday.

Hundreds of people turned up to witness the beautiful demonstration.

New World IGA Nakasi marketing co-ordinator Maawiyaa Begum said this year they had conducted the fire crackers demo at two new locations, at Rakiraki and Nakasi branches.

“During the last fireworks demo we lit more than 16 firecrackers to showcase the different types we have for the Diwali celebrations,” Ms Begum said.

“This year, the demo started from Rakiraki, Ba, Labasa and the last demo was held at the Nakasi branch.

“We try to conduct demos at different locations every year.

“New World has been doing the firecrackers demo for the past three years as part of our social commitment of giving back to the communities.

“Every year, New World chooses different locations to conduct the fireworks demonstration for its customers around the country,” Ms Begum said.
