Fiji Votes: Undecided Voter Makes Vote Count

Loata Vakatalacagi decided to not cast her ballot in 2014 because she was undecided who to vote for.
This year was different for the 28-year-old as she cast her vote for the first time at Navurevure Community Hall in Naitasiri yesterday.
“I was one of those undecided voters in 2014, but this year I knew who to vote for. I was really excited to vote today that I woke up at 1am to make breakfast, clean the house and wash the clothes so that I can come early to the pre-polling venue,” Ms Vakatalacagi said.
“This year the political parties reached out to inform us what their party was about and what they stood for.
“There were a lot of talkback shows that I listened to so that I could decide who to vote for and I am glad that I did because if not then I wouldn’t have voted again.”

Saimoni Buinimasi, 24, said he woke up at 5am to ensure that he was on time to cast his vote.
“Political parties were ready for this election compared with 2014 and I am glad they were because I needed to decide who to vote for and make my vote count,” Mr Buinimasi said.
“This is the second time I voted and will continue to vote because I want a Government that listens to the voice of the people because that makes a good Government.”
