The Tuvalu rugby 7s team side will be focusing more on developing their players during the Oceania Sevens Championship at the ANZ Stadium today.

Team coach Elenoa Kunatuba is confident the players will learn as much as possible during the two-day tournament

“We are here for development and we have a young side,” she said

“Participating in the competition is an opportunity for new players to be exposed in a top level competition.”

“I am confident the players will be able to deliver what they have learnt so far.”

Kunatuba added with the inclusion of some experienced players in the team will really help boost the performance of new players during their match

“They are excited to be part of the competition and I will let them play and enjoy the game.

“This is our first comp and we will try and give it our best shot.

“They have been gearing up and have been encouraging themselves.

“They are very excited and will be looking forward to their first match.”

Tuvalu will play Samoa today at 12.45pm, Tonga at 3.33pm and Niue at 6.42pm at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
