Bad Weather On The Way, Says NaDraki

Thunder rolled across the Viti Levu skies last night. Heavy rain drenched Suva. Expect more.

Commercial forecaster NaDraki Weather yesterday morning predicted a tropical disturbance developing to the northwest of Fiji. And a tropical depression moving in over the Western Division.

Its outlook for the next three days said: “Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms becoming more widespread and heavy at times Tuesday as a tropical disturbance develops to the northwest of Fiji and moves closer.

“Wednesday a strong tropical depression moves over the western Division moving southeastward with widespread rain with heavy falls. Local flash flooding is a definite possibility so plan to get to your polling station to vote as early as you can.”

The Fiji Meteorological Service last night said: “A trough of low pressure remains slow moving over Fiji. Meanwhile, another trough of low pressure is expected to drift towards the group from the northwest on Tuesday.”
It forecast showers increasing to rain and becoming frequent and heavy from tonight.
