Drasa Avenue Primary School Year Six student, Krish Lal had promised his family that he would succeed this year at his new school.

Krish was previously enrolled at Gandhi Bhawan Primary School in Lautoka and was transferred to Drasa Avenue Primary School this year.

He did not only attain several awards, but also topped the Year Six level for this year.

His father, Sanjay Lal said it was a proud moment for him and his wife.

“I am very happy to see my son achieve these many awards today,” he said.

“When he changed school, he promised me that he would do much better than the previous school he was in.”

He said Krish sometimes managed their family business, Hari Lal Investment in Kashmir, Lautoka, when they were caught up with other work.

Mr Lal said apart from spending four solid hours studying, managing the shop was part of his leisure activities.

Krish wants to be an accountant.

His awards were highest marks in Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science and Best overall student in Year Six level and also Fiji Mathematics distinction award, and a medal for taking part in the Fiji Mathematics Association South-West Zone.
