The Fiji Police Force is reiterating that it will not allow any person or groups to disrupt the 2018 General Election today. They are reassuring the public that they are well postured to counter any attempts to create instability during the post-election period.

Police said they are well aware of rumours circulating of rogue groups working towards disrupting the voting process and the post-election period, if results are not favourable.

Police are warning rumour mongers to stop creating unnecessary fear among the general populace and that any attempts to disrupt the election process will not be taken lightly.

The Fiji Police Force is working with the full support of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and is closely monitoring the security landscape. Their officers are ready to be deployed at any time to assist us if there is information of unrest that could impact the Election process.

Voters are encouraged to cast their votes today as officers will be deployed to all polling venues and stations, while routine Police operations will continue as normal.
