Suva Athletics is adamant of a positive performance in the 2018 FMF Chow Games which starts at the ANZ Stadium, Suva tomorrow and culminates on Saturday.

A total of 140 athletes will be representing the capital side and head coach Camueli Francis said the biggest challenge would come from the western schools in particular Nadroga who are the defending champions in the girls division.

The other team representing the capital side is Suva One.

“We have strength in our junior grades,”Francis said.

“We also aim to improve more medals in our senior grade.

“Nadroga took out the girl’s title last year, so the challenge is there and also from Nadi and Lautoka.

“We will concentrate on our performance and preparations and hope to get more medals especially in the relays.”

For the last three years, the Chow Games have been held in three divisions across the country.

But the Fiji Primary Schools Athletics As-sociation decided to move the national event to Suva except for the northern division which held its competition in Wairiki, Taveuni last week.

The capital side is defending the boys’ grade.

The teams taking part are:

Central– Suva Athletics, Suva One, Lami, Namosi, Nasinu, Serua/Namosi Highlanders, Wainibuka, Tailevu South.

Western- Nadroga/Navosa, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Ra, Wallis & Futuna.

Competition starts at 8.30am.
