The Australian High Commission wishes to advise people that there has been an article circulating in social media suggesting Australia and Fiji are negotiating visa-free entry into Australia for Fijians.

No such negotiations are underway. All Fijians continue to require visas to enter Australia.

The Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes, has been falsely quoted in this story.

All Fijians should refer to the ‘Travelling to Australia’ page on the official website of the Australian High Commission, Suva, for information relating to visas or future work opportunities (www.fiji.highcommission.gov.au).

Information and assistance regarding visa applications can also be obtained from our Australian Visa Application Centre service provider TT Services (www.ttsaustralia.com).

Any suspected fraud should be reported to the Fiji Police Force, the Fiji Commerce Commission or the Australian High Commission, Suva.
