Ninety-six early childhood education students were urged to enjoy what they learnt and never give up on a task handed out to them.

Nadi Women’s Crisis Centre Senior Counsellor/Community Educator Reshmi Singh was speaking to the students who will start Year 1 next year.

The tiny tots of Namaka Public School, dressed in their kalavata, fit the part of a graduation ceremony at kindy yesterday.

To parents and guardians, Ms Singh said: “Please refuse buying them toy gears, it depicts violence and war, gift them something that nurtures them positively.”

Head teacher Subramani Krishna thanked the parents for their auspicious work in educating the grassroot Fijians.

“Education for early childhood is for life and very important in child’s career. Students need to come to school every day so they can do better come Year One,” Mr Krishna said.

The Namaka Public School Year 8 prizegiving is on Tuesday evening while the school’s annual prizegiving is set for Thursday.
