Lautoka won the boys division in the 2018 FMF Chow Games at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

The sugar city side collected 10 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze medals, Suva One finished second (9, .8, 7), Nadroga/Navosa in third place (7, 11, 14), Suva Athletics fourth (7, 8, 3), Ra fifth  (4, 1, 1).

Surprisingly Wallis and Futuna won the boys U14 grade winning 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Lautoka Primary Schools Athletics Association president Donasiano Kalou believes the new track at Churchill Park assisted the athletes from the sugar city.

“It has definitely boosted our preparation and despite challenges faced by our senior athletes, they still fought and won their events.

“This win is not only for Lautoka but the whole western division who all did well this year and gave a good fight.

“We want to thank our parents for their support and the 16 schools participating. We prepared our athletes for four weeks,” Kalou added.
