A-G: We must take a principled position, we must not lie

FijiFirst leader Voreqe Bainimarama took a principled stand to speak the truth in the lead up to the General Election.

FijiFirst general secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said they were honoured as candidates of the party to be provided such a framework.

“He said we must take a principled position, we must not lie, we must speak the truth. And unfortunately, others did not believe in integrity and principles – not on fear mongering, not on lies, not on hate, not on creating economic chaos – but to be responsible and to speak the truth.”

Mr Bainimarama was in New Zealand yesterday for a family funeral when the Writ of Elections was returned to the President Major-General Retired Jioji Konrote.

“Going forward we think the future is extremely bright because we have majority of Fijians actually believing that political parties should take principled positions,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
