Next Sugar Shipment To Europe Next Week

The next shipment of sugar will be for Europe on MV Sea Angel next week.
This was confirmed by Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) chief executive officer Graham Clark yesterday.
Mr Clark said 33,600 tonnes will be shipped.
Out of this, around 12,000 tonnes is expected to be shipped from the Labasa Sugar Mill.
This follows the shipment of 35,000 tonnes to Europe and United Kingdom on September, 13.
“20,000 tonnes was loaded at Labasa and 15,000 from Lautoka,” said Mr Clark.
“There was also a shipment of 33,700 tonnes to China on MV Erraldale, of which 22,000 tonnes was loaded from Labasa and 11,700 tonnes from Lautoka.
“Last month, FSC shipped 9033 tonnes to the United States of America on the MV African Egret from Labasa.”
When questioned whether FSC secured new markets despite a global drop in sugar price, Mr Clark said Fiji had managed to secure markets in China.
Mr Clark said that the final price of the new shipment would be determined after its delivery.
The shipment also comes on the back off strong performances recorded at all of FSC’s mills this crushing season.
