The Prime Minister’s International Business Awards tonight will be the first inaugural event that Premila Kumar attends as the Minister for Industry, Trade, and Tourism.

Investment Fiji is the main organiser of the event at the Sofitel Fiji Resort Ballroom, Nadi, from 6.30pm to 1am.

Meanwhile, Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA) offered its sincere congratulations to the Fijian Government and the newly appointed Ministers and Assistant Ministers. It acknowledges their individual successes in the 2018 national elections.

FHTA looks forward to working closely with all the Ministries over the next four years to achieve continued and sustainable economic growth and development of the tourism industry.

In particular, the association warmly welcomes Mrs Kumar and honourable Assistant Minister Vijay Nath. It reiterates its commitment to continue to work in close consultation and co-operation with the Ministry for Industry, Trade, and Tourism to achieve the projected outcomes for the related industries and the economy.

FHTA has developed a close working relationship with the Ministry over the previous four years and is confident that the relationship will continue to strengthen and develop.

FHTA president, Dixon Seeto, said the association is ready as always, to work closely with the Minister and the Assistant Minister to ensure the tourism industry grows sustainably while ensuring its benefits of increased employment, foreign exchange earnings and 40 per cent Gross Domestic Product continues to spread throughout Fiji.

“We congratulate all the new Ministers and Assistant Ministers and wish them success in their portfolios,” Mr Seeto said.
