Iva Has High Hopes To Achieve More In Life

Year 12 student of Kalabu Primary School, Iva Bola has high hopes of achieving more in life after receiving the dux of the year award on Wednesday.
Iva, 12, believes the financial difficulties her family faces is the reason she strives for good grades and aims to successfully get a job that would help her support her family.
“Sometimes, as a young girl, I wanted to buy clothes and items that any girls at my age would want but I am not able to because of not having enough money.
“I want to change that for my family and I,” she said.
She said she hopes to achieve more in life than just receiving a dux award.
Iva scored 498 marks out of 600 and said she did have competition among her colleagues who were equally as good as her.
Meanwhile, Iva dedicates her success to her name sake who passed in April this year.
“My name sake, my aunt was a very helpful woman because whenever I asked her for advice she was always there to guide me,” she said.
The 12-year-old winner’s dream is to become a Mathematics and English teacher.
Iva also acknowledged her grandmother and mother for encouraging her during her exams.
