Man in drug case fronts High Court

 

Kritesh Kumar, 36, who is charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs, appeared at the High Court in Suva yesterday.

He appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.

Kumar is charged with three counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs, namely methamphetamine and a count of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs, namely cannabis sativa.

It is alleged that he was found with 1.4 kilograms of Methamphetamine and marijuana at his home during a Police raid on October 31, 2017.

State lawyer, Juleen Fatiaki in her opening address said that the State’s case was simple and six officers would be brought in to give evidence in court.

She also revealed in court that Kumar lives in Nasinu and drives a taxi for a living.

Ms Fatiaki said he was also allegedly found cultivating marijuana on the said date.

The trial continues before Justice Rajasinghe on Monday.
