Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva was a hyve of activities yesterday as people from all walks of life enjoyed an event of multicultural entertainment, fireworks displays and various competitions.

The India Fiji Friendship Forum in conjunction with the High Commission of India and various other associations organised the Fiji Masti Bhara Diwali Mela in Suva.

High Commissioner of India Vishvas Sapkal said the event reflected the true spirit of Diwali which is about joy, happiness and peace.

“This event is a way to spread peace and harmony, it is about bringing people of all races and cultures together,” he said.

The full day event featured multicultural performances, competitions, meke and performances by the Police band. Last night, more groups performed in the celebrations.
