The Commissioner of Police has suspended 12 police officers without pay pending the outcome of the Internal Affairs investigation into the escape of five remand prisoners from police custody.

Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has interdicted five regular officers and suspended seven Special Constables without pay effective immediately.

The search continues for the four remaining escapees and a warning that we will also arrest anyone who is found harbouring or aiding the escapees.

Meanwhile, one of the escapees Suliano Rokosuka was arrested last night and is back in police custody.
Rokosuka was arrested by officers of the special taskforce at Wailea Settlement and is now in custody at the Nabua Police Station.
Also arrested were a man and woman for allegedly harbouring Rokosuka and both are also being questioned at the Nabua Police Station.
The search continues for the other four escapees and the taskforce continues to work around the clock to ensure all are arrested.

Please call Crime Stoppers on 919 if you have any information on their whereabouts.
