A villager charged in connection with the death of his wife has denied one count of murder at the High Court in Labasa.

Josese Bale, a 34-year-old father of four from Somosomo Village, Taveuni, appeared before Justice Salesi Temo.

It is alleged that he stabbed Adi Ema Bale after a heated argument and then turned himself in to Police officers at the Waiyevo Police Station on Taveuni on June 10, 2018.

He was represented by Legal Aid Commission lawyer Rosalina Boseiwaqa.

The case has been adjourned for pre-trial conference on December 11, 2018.
