Dates Set For Weightlifting Fiji Selection Trials

Weightlifting Fiji will be holding five selection trials for the 2019 IWF Junior World Championships and 2019 Pacific Games.
The dates of the Selection trials are as follows: • December 15 1st Selection Trials;
- January 19 2nd Selection Trials;
- February 23 3rd Selection Trials;
- March 23 4th Selection Trials;
- April 20 5th & Final Selection Trials.
Any athlete vying for a place is required to attend a minimum of three trials and achieve the minimum qualification standards as per the approved Selection Criteria to be eligible to final selection.
In addition, an athlete seeking selection into a Team Fiji must complete the WF Expression of Interest (EOI) Form by no later than January 31, to be considered for selection.
By signing the EOI, the athlete agrees to abide by all Weightlifting Fiji’s & International Weightlifting Federation’s rules, regulations and safety guidelines.
The first trials will be held on December 15 at the National Fitness Centre.
WF is expecting a strong presence of athletes from the two newly established clubs of Dogowale and Makosoi in Serua.
Weightlifting Fiji is expecting to select a team of around 10 to 15 athletes for each of these two important international competitions.
The 2019 IWF JWC will be held in Suva on June 1-8, while the Pacific Games will be held on July 6-20, in Samoa.
