Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated his Fijian counterpart, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, on his re-election as Prime Minister throughout the next four-year term of Government.

In a congratulatory note to Prime Minister Bainimarama, Prime Minister Modi said India and Fiji enjoy traditionally warm and cordial relations based on mutual respect, goodwill and understanding.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own personal behalf, I extend warm greetings and congratulations on Your Excellency’s re-election as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji. I also convey my best wishes for continued progress and

prosperity of the people of the Republic of Fiji under your able leadership.”

“We have excellent co-operation in both bilateral and multilateral fora for our shared objectives. I am confident that our strong relationship will continue to grow under your leadership.”

Prime Minister Modi added that India and Fiji share important values that support the countries’ strong bilateral relationship.
